Bomb threat shut down Kellogg’s Snacks on Weaver Road for several hours; facility cleared, reopened

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene of a bomb threat called into Kellogg’s Snacks located at 500 Weaver Road near Florence for several hours.

The threat was called in to the facility at approximately 4:50 a.m.

Kellogg’s management made the decision to evacuate their employees from the building and a bomb detection canine was requested from the Kentucky State Police.

The Weaver Road facility opened in 1988. It employed 280 people as of 2016, according to the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.

Update:

After a search of the premises with canine and Kellogg’s personnel, accompanied by law enforcement, the scene has been cleared. Kellogg’s Snacks has reopened.
