Boone County woman allegedly stabs boyfriend; similar domestic incident in Florence last week

A Boone County woman is in jail for allegedly stabbing her live-in boyfriend in the stomach during an argument.

The incident comes a little more than a week after a woman in Florence was charged with stabbing her husband in the neck twice in a domestic dispute.

Boone County Sheriff’s say Nichole Brickler, 33, who lives on Lynda Court in Burlington, was involved in an argument Wednesday evening with Michael Jeffries of the same address and she stabbed him.

Brickler is charged with Assault 1st degree (domestic violence), Tampering with physical evidence, & Violation of conditions of release.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Lynda Court address shortly before midnight, following a call from a third-party, but were turned away by Brickler and Jeffries.

At approximately 3:20 a.m. deputies responded to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence for a call about a stabbing victim.

Police say Jeffries, 35, drove himself to the hospital for treatment of a stab wound to the abdomen.

After speaking with Jeffries, deputies arrested Brickler Thursday morning. Jeffries was transferred to University Medical Center in Cincinnati for surgery. His condition is unknown.

Brickler was transported to the Boone County Detention Center.

Amy Gilbert of the Parkland Apartments in Florence was arrested on Jan.30, for allegedly stabbing her husband in the neck twice as he was getting ready for work.

Scottie Gilbert, 38, also drove to St. Elizabeth Florence before being transported to University Medical Center in Cincinnati for treatment of his injuries.

Amy Gilbert, 37, was charged with Assault, First Degree and was also transported to the Boone County Detention Center.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office released the following statement regarding the Lynda Court incident:

On Thursday, February 09, 2017 at approximately 5:00 a.m. a Burlington, Kentucky woman was arrested for stabbing her live in boyfriend in the abdomen during an argument. 

Nichole Brickler, 33 of the 2,600 block of Lynda Court in Burlington, Kentucky is *charged with Assault 1st degree (domestic violence), Tampering with physical evidence, & Violation of conditions of release.  She and her mate, Michael Jeffries, 35 also of the Lynda Court address were involved in an argument on Wednesday (2/8/17) evening when she stabbed him.

Our dispatch center was originally notified by a third party caller at 11:56 p.m. informing them of a stabbing at the Lynda Court address.  Responding deputies were turned away at the door by both Brickler and Jeffries but were then summoned to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky at approximately 3:20 a.m. notifying them of a man who drove himself to the emergency room for treatment of a stab wound.  Deputies interviewed Jeffries for his rendition before he was transported to University Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio for surgery.
