Webb-Edgington is new president of Life Learning Center; former head of state Homeland Security

Life Learning Center, Inc., a local leader in helping people transform their lives through life skills education and employment, announced Alecia Webb-Edgington as its new president effective Monday, January 16th.

Webb-Edgington will lead the organization’s continued growth, with a focus on increasing the number of people served and expanding the Center’s visibility, non-profit partnerships, funding sources, and volunteer base.

She joins Life Learning Center after serving as Senior Police Advisor at the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement.  Previously, she was employed as Director of Law Enforcement Operations at Louisville-based Appriss, Inc. and held a remarkable 15-year career with the Kentucky State Police, retiring as a Major and Chief Information Officer in the Technical Services Division.

“Alecia has much energy, passion, confidence and determination, “said Bill Butler, Founder and Board Chairman of Life Learning Center.  “She is disciplined and will bring excellence to this position.  I look forward to working with her as we enter this new phase at Life Learning Center.”

“I am excited to be returning to Kentucky, and to lead an organization like Life Learning Center,” Webb-Eddington said.  “The Center is poised to help people who are ‘at risk’ achieve lives of stability and purpose. The unique continuum of education and care offered here can have a profound long-term impact on the community.”

She, her husband, and their daughter live in Covington.
