Amanda Speier to speak at Kenton Rotary
The Executive Director of Family Promise of Northern Kentucky, Amanda Speier, will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Kenton County’s luncheon meeting on Thursday, January 19.

Family Promise of Northern Kentucky is a group individuals, community leaders, faith communities, corporate partners and civic organizations all working together to change the lives of homeless and low-income families in Northern Kentucky by creating sustainable independence.
“The Rotary Club of Kenton County is thrilled to have Amanda Speier as our guest speaker,” stated President Steve Gillespie. “Our club members are looking forward to hearing an update about the services which the Family Promise of Northern Kentucky provides to families in Northern Kentucky.”
The luncheon will begin at noon at the Colonial Cottage Inn, 3140 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky. There will be limited seating by reservation only. To make a reservation, please contact Steve Gillespie at (859) 371-2900. The cost to cover the lunch is $12.00 per person.
Talbert House recognizes Newport scholar
Talbert House is pleased to recognize Xavier graduate Amy Bleser as the agency’s first McClain Scholar.

Bleser, a resident of Newport, is the Associate Director for behavioral health services provided by Talbert House in College Hill. She was among the five inaugural Talbert House McClain Scholarship recipients in March 2016. Bleser completed her master’s degree in Counseling at Xavier University and shortly after received her Master of Arts Licensed Professional Counselor license, distinguishing her as the first McClain Scholar.
“I plan to use my degree to benefit our clients and staff in engagement, treatment, and obtaining independence,” says Bleser.
The McClain Scholarship Fund honors the late Pam McClain who devoted her life’s work to Talbert House, and after nearly 40 years remained a champion for the clients and families in the agency’s care. She began her career working with youth and was promoted again and again because of her extraordinary talents. Pam furthered her education to develop her skills and to better serve the organization. She served as Vice President for over 20 years. The McClain Scholars will carry on this philosophy and be Pam’s lasting legacy.
