New NKY Wellness Challenge kicks off as 25 local businesses show their healthy initiatives

The NKY Wellness Challenge kicked-off with a celebration at the Erlanger Branch of the Kenton County Public Library. Over 25 Local businesses showcased their healthy initiatives and networked with wellness challenge participants and teams.

The Northern Kentucky Chamber foundation has started 2017 by challenging the business community to take control over their health and fitness by getting involved with newly redesigned 2017 NKY Wellness Challenge.

The Wellness Challenge has attracted over 40 teams made up of over 500 individual employees. These teams will compete over the next 6 weeks by tracking water and vegetable intake, as well as participation in healthy activities and preventative care methods.

Sandi Hammons, owner of Shared Wellness, is most excited about the health benefits that the Challenge can have for everyone involved. “Health and wellness is a focus that all employers need to have top of mind for their employees and their families. Healthy employees are happier, more productive, provided better customer service and can focus better  on their tasks. All around it is a win-win for everyone.

“With the addition of the new Physi app this year, it  can continue to be  utilized even after the Challenge ends. The  NKY Wellness Challenge hosted by our Chamber of Commerce  provides a very effective way for companies to engage with their employees by providing a tangible  benefit for everyone.”

This year, The NKY Chamber has partnered with Physi, an app that will allow participants to easily track progress, activities, eating habits and general health information. The app also allows for seamless communication with other wellness challenge participants. For more info and to download the app visit http://physi.rocks/
