Longtime Brighton Center donors share ‘thank you’ message to close out 50 year anniversary celebration

As part of its 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2016, Brighton Center introduced a “50 Years, 50 Stories” series to highlight some of the customers, volunteers, donors, community partners or supporters who are part of its history.

The Northern Kentucky Tribune partnered with Brighton Center to share some of those firsthand accounts with our readers over the last several weeks.

As the 50th Anniversary celebration comes to a close, longtime volunteers and donors Dave and Bet Koeninger shared a special “thank you” message to everyone who has contributed to Brighton Center becoming an invaluable community resource.

“Above all, Brighton Center has always treated those entrusted to their care with dignity, respect and compassion,” the Koeningers

betdaveThis thank-you note is addressed to every person, past and present, who has helped make the Brighton Center the success story that it is.

From its inception, Brighton Center has made itself accessible to those in our community in need of help.  By identifying and focusing on those needs, formulating a plan and utilizing the appropriate networks, Brighton Center makes it possible to provide the appropriate programs and services to their customers in an efficient and timely manner.

Of the many programs offered by Brighton Center, Dave and I especially appreciate and identify with the Northern Kentucky Scholar House.

Access to education and economic support services, a stable home environment and reliable child care—these are all vital steps toward achieving independence and self-sufficiency;  and Dave and I know from personal experience how very rewarding—and empowering— realizing that goal can be.  No one ever said it would be easy, but thanks to Brighton Center, the Scholar House proves it can be done.

Above all, Brighton Center has always treated those entrusted to their care with dignity, respect and compassion.  Of all their many accomplishments over the past fifty years, this is the one they should be most proud of.

So, to everyone at Brighton Center, thank you for everything you do.  Because you are always there for those in need, we want to be there for you.  Happy Fiftieth Anniversary— and many, many more!

From its beginning in 1966 as a modest Newport storefront, Brighton Center has grown to provide a range of programs and services which include meeting basic needs, adult and early childhood education, workforce development, substance abuse recovery for women, affordable housing, financial education and counseling, and neighborhood based programs.

In 2015 Brighton Center impacted the lives of 60,892 individuals from infants to senior citizens through 37 programs in Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati
