Under new ownership, Covington Chili maintains its timeless atmosphere and features its renowned 80-year-old chili recipe served in various options ranging from three, four and five ways to coneys.

“When I was looking to own a restaurant, I was interested in finding a restaurant located in a unique historic area with a history behind it,” said owner Greg Harris. “Covington fits that bill perfectly.”

Located at 619 Madison Avenue, The Hannaford recently opened its doors in Covington, featuring traditional cocktails with a twist, an extended craft draft and bottle beer list and a hearty wine selection.

The bar, says co-owner Jack Weston, takes pride in its relaxed atmosphere and in providing Covington with a neighborhood “living room” for its visitors to hang out, have fun and connect.

“Covington is a great place for us to start our next business because it aligns with our mission,” said Weston. “One part of our mission statement is, ‘In planting a flag in emerging neighborhoods, and playing an active role in positively transforming it.’

“We want to be a small part of the continued transformation of Covington and help to keep the positive momentum going. Great things are happening here, and we’re excited to be a part of it.”

The Hannaford considers itself an uptown bar with a downtown grit feel and welcomes visitors to stop by and check out the new venue. The bar is open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 2 a.m. For more information, visit the website. or Facebook page.
