Plenty for kids and families to do all month at Kenton County libraries; check out holiday programs


The Kenton County Public Library offers more than 100 FREE programs a month. Here are just a few of the holiday programs being offered in December:
  
Model Trains – Covington Branch, 502 Scott Boulevard
Saturday, December 3, 10 am-5 pm & Sunday, December 4, 1-4 pm
Tri-State NTRAK fills the room with their model train display, specially designed scenery and model train layouts.
 
Storytime with Santa – Covington Branch, 502 Scott Boulevard
Sunday, December 4, 2-3:30 pm

Join us for a special storytime with Santa, a Christmas craft and photo-ops. Please bring your own camera.

Big Band Holiday Concert – Durr Branch, 1992 Walton-Nicholson Road, Independence
Sunday, December 4, 2-3 pm

Join us for an excitingly loud holiday concert brought to you by the NKU Jazz Ensemble 20-member Big Band! Spend the afternoon with family singing along to your favorite tunes.
 
Holiday Extravaganza – Erlanger Branch Library, 1992 Kenton Lands Road
Sunday, December 4, 1-3 pm
Enjoy our annual Holiday Extravaganza co-sponsored by the City of Erlanger Parks & Rec. There will be a horse-drawn carriage ride, visit with Santa (bring your own camera) and holiday crafts.

DIY Gloves – Covington Branch, 502 Scott Boulevard
Monday, December 5, 4-5 pm
Keep your hands warm this winter with colorful new gloves. School age children will receive a pair of gloves and supplies to decorate them however they like. Limited to the first 30 children in attendance.
 
Holiday Concert – Cincinnati Harper’s Robin – Covington Branch, 502 Scott Boulevard
Saturday, December 10, 1-2 pm
The Cincinnati Harpers’ Robin performs holiday tunes, traditional, Celtic and contemporary.
 
Holiday Sparkle – Covington Branch, 502 Scott Boulevard
Saturday, December 10, 3-4 pm

Give yourself the gift of Glossa glam, makeup tips for your brightest holiday look from a professional makeup artist. For Teens and adults only. Call 859-962-4071 to register.
 
Peanuts Holiday Celebration – Covington Branch, 502 Scott Boulevard
Wednesday, December 14, 4-5 pm

Join us for a Peanuts party! We’ll watch A Charlie Brown Christmas and make a Peanuts holiday themed keepsake box.

Floating Book Ornaments – Erlanger Branch Library, 401 Kenton Lands Road
Wednesday, December 14, 6:30-7:30 pm.

Create unique literary themed ornaments for your tree or give as a gift (Harry Potter, Ms. Peregrine and comic book covers included). Teens only. Register at 962-4002.
 
Holiday DIY – Durr Branch, 1992 Walton-Nicholson Road, Independence
Sunday, December 18
Make bookmarks and book crafts out of recycled materials. Registration required by calling 962-4031. Adults only.
 
Gift Making for Teens – Covington Branch, 502 Scott Boulevard
Tuesday, Dec. 20, 4-6 pm
Make a holiday gift to give to family or friends. Supplies provided. Teens only. Call 859-962-4071 to register.
