CovCath celebrating Blue Ribbon honor with all-school and community assembly on Monday

Covington Catholic will hold all-school and community assembly on Monday, December 5th, at 10 a.m. in the CovCath gymnasium to celebrate Covington Catholic’s selection as a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School.

The Most Reverend Bishop Roger J. Foys will be in attendance, as will numerous other dignitaries and special guests.

Bill Krumpelbeck (Science Department Chair, Teacher and Coach), Bob Rowe (Principal), and Carol Rasp (Languages Department Chair, Teacher) received the award in a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on November 8th.

CovCath was one of 279 public and 50 private schools reciting this designation from the U.S. Secretary of Education, John B. King.

Now in its 34th year, the National Blue Ribbon Schools program has been awarded to fewer than 8500 schools nationwide. CovCath is one of only two high schools in the state to win the designation this year. It is the only high school in the state and one of only 30 high schools nationwide to be awarded it twice, having also been named a Blue Ribbon School in 2007.
