The Cincinnati Bengals and United Way of Greater Cincinnati teamed up to launch “Character Playbook™, a digital learning initiative focused on youth character development and building healthy relationships. The digital course, powered by EverFi, will be implemented in schools throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

“Partnering with the NFL and Cincinnati Bengals is always a win for United Way – and most importantly the children in our community,” said Robert C. Reifsnyder, president and CEO, United Way of Greater Cincinnati. “Character education is critical to students’ future success and Character Playbook delivers in an innovative, fun way.”

The launch event at Riverview East Academy Nov. 29 included current Cincinnati Bengals players William Jackson III, Cody Core, Tyler Boyd, Alex Erickson, and Christian Westerman. More than 200 students and district and city officials took part.

“The Cincinnati Bengals are excited to join with United Way of Greater Cincinnati to help launch Character Playbook,” said Emily Parker, Cincinnati Bengals director of communications. “We hope the students will be excited to learn more about how to cultivate and maintain healthy relationships after hearing about the importance of character development from Bengals players.”

Character Playbook educates students on how to cultivate and maintain healthy relationships during their critical middle school years. The digital course is comprised of six interactive, digital modules that cover key concepts around positive character development, social-emotional learning, and building healthy relationships.
