Skidaddle by Skidaddles to drop off the kids while you go about your Santa duties during the holidays

Tiffany Sam has built a model childcare enterprise in Skidaddles, based on flexible and extended hours, quality and safety, and a no-hassel drop-in service.

Sam founded her childcare facility in 2008 and now has two locations — in Florence and in Mason.

The drop-in flexible hours service is just what busy parents are looking for during the holiday season — when Santa’s helpers have plenty of secret missions to accomplish.

But Skidaddles fills a void all year long for busy couples who need a “Date Night” or just a quiet break, for a safe and fun place to leave the kids while errands are run, groceries are fetched, appointments are kept

Tiffany and her husband, Michael, the parents of three girls, know all about the importance of safe, quality childcare — and the concern of leaving children in the care of others. With an educational component built-in and “enrichment activities” that make a child’s stay enjoyable, they have built a franchisable model they hope to have in place by the end of the year.

The special drop-in holiday program runs through December 23. It includes daily themed activities and specially-designed learning centers to keep the children occupied while parents are away. Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Friday. The Florence hours are extended to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and Mason is open until midnight.

Kids can stay for an hour or two or for the day.

“While we are known for our top-quality, flexible care and Friday and Saturday “Date Night” childcare for busy couples who need a night away, we’re finding that the holiday drop-in care is extremely popular with today’s busy parents,” says Sams.

Skidaddles has filled a long-needed Greater Cincinnati niche in assisting parents who seek planned or unexpected child care whether it is for one hour or 12. Each day has planned activities, themes and often special guests so children not only eagerly anticipate their Skidaddles visit, they learn in the process.

“Our parents utilize our services for work and pleasure,” says Sams.  “Parents have the reassurance that our Skidaddles facilities have experienced and well-trained teachers who want to be there to enrich the kids’ lives. We are open 90 hours a week for parents’ convenience. Registration is quick and easy on our website.”

The innovative Skidaddles centers have always offered an array of childcare choices ranging from pre-school classes; before and after school, all day, and late evening care; and summer camp.

Children from ages 12 months to 12 years are accepted at the Florence location; Mason starts with 18 month olds.

Michael and Tiffany, both Morehead University grads, have financial management backgrounds. She was a CPA and he still works in banking. She has the hands-on responsibilities for running the business. They live in Florence.

Tiffany received the SCORE 2009 Client of the Year 1st runner up award for the Greater Cincinnati chapter of SCORE which is given to business owners who demonstrate excellence in the management and growth of their business.  Skidaddles also received the 2011 and 2012 Tri-State Success Award for growth in revenue and employees as presented by Cincy Magazine.

Additionally, Skidaddles has received the Best of NKY award for their Florence location, and the Best of the North award for the Mason, also presented by Cincy Magazine.
