New major at TMC

As a blend of management and technology, Management Information Systems brings the best of both worlds together so our graduates will be equipped with the knowledge needed to succeed in a wide variety of jobs.

According to Yousif Mustafa, PhD, the department chair of Information Systems, “Here at Thomas More College we help cultivate students’ skills so they can become innovators, leaders, problem solvers, and project managers that the world needs.”

Students in the MIS program will be able to master technology such as database, computer simulation, and web programming side by side with management science skills such as data mining and business intelligence, in order to solve problems. The knowledge students will gain in this program will be applicable to any business of any size.

This new major is part of Thomas More College’s efforts to continue providing students with majors that are in high demand.

In order for students to be successful in the job market, they must have the latest knowledge and tools which is what Management Information Systems is designed to provide.

Chase among top for ‘business-related’ experiences

Northern Kentucky University’s Chase College of Law is one of the top law schools in the nation for students who want experience in business-related courses and programs, according to new rankings by preLaw magazine.

PreLaw says Chase rates as an “A”-level law school for what students have available to them. That includes business-related courses, the W. Bruce Lunsford Academy for Law, Business and Technology, the Small Business & Nonprofit Law Clinic, the Transactional Law Practice Center, the Business Bootcamp, plus business-related externships and internships.

“Chase has a tremendous reputation for preparing students to be ready to practice law when they are graduated, whether that is trying cases in a courtroom or advising clients in a boardroom. The range of business-related courses and practical experiences Chase offers is part of that tradition of helping students to be ‘practice-ready’ in any area of law they choose,” said Dean Jeffrey Standen.

Chase is one of just 17 universities across the nation to achieve an “A” ranking or higher. It shares the “A”-level ranking with such law schools as UCLA, Case Western Reserve, and University of Minnesota.
