LiveWell Newport hosting free health and wellness event Saturday; health screenings, healthy food


LiveWell Newport will host a free health and wellness event at General James Taylor Park on Riverboat Row on Saturday from 4 – 6:30 p.m.

Free parking is available on 4th & Columbia.

In support of myNKY’s vision to promote a culture of good health in Northern Kentucky, the LiveWell Newport Coalition is offering this family-friendly event.

It will include a variety of free activities such as fitness classes, a bike safety and service station, and health screenings provided by St. Elizabeth Healthcare.

A free healthy dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and raffle prizes will be awarded every 15 minutes.

The evening will conclude with a “Light Night” organized bike/walk/run through the city at 7 p.m., followed by a party in the park. Attendees interested in participating in Light Night should register online at light-night.org.

LiveWell NKY aims to ignite an uprising within the community to build a movement toward a culture of health. LiveWell NKY will recognize and award communities, worksites and faith-based organizations bronze/silver/gold status based on their implementation of policies and environmental changes that drive improved health. Individuals can also “take the pledge” to become LiveWell NKY ambassadors and find the tools, resources and support to change behavior and lead healthier lifestyles.
