TMC librarian receives state award

Leoma Dunn, director of Thomas More College Library, will receive the Kentucky Library Association Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Dunn, said her nominator, “has been a driving force” in the KLA. She received the Special Librarian of the Year Aard in 2009. She was formerly a librarian with the Bluegrass Community & Technical College and has been at Thomas More since 2007.

She earned master of business administration from Northern Kentucky University and a master of science in library science from the University of Kentucky.

Voegele joins Furlong Building Enterprises

Furlong Building Enterprises, LLC, a commercial and industrial construction firm, announced today that Stephen Voegele has joined the company as a construction manager. Voegele is responsible for managing construction for projects, estimating and working with customers. Voegele previously was the owner of S&T Excavating and worked at Allgeier & Son and Welsh Excavating.

Voegele has worked on commercial and industrial construction projects ranging in size from $10,000 to over $4 million in new buildings and renovations. Stephen’s hobbies include boating, caring for his horses and riding his motorcycle. He resides in Metamora Indiana with his wife and daughter. Voegele is a volunteer fireman for the City of Batesville Indiana.

Furlong specializes in design-build construction, additions and renovations for commercial, industrial, office, medical and retail projects. Services are provided throughout the Tri-State and Midwest Region including Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan and Tennessee.

Grayson to speak at Rotary

Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Trey Grayson, will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Kenton County’s luncheon meeting on Thursday, September 29.

Grayson joined the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce as President and CEO in 2014. Prior to his time with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, he served as the Director of Harvard University’s Institute of Politics from 2011 to June 2014 and was a two-term Secretary of State for the Commonwealth of Kentucky serving from 2004-2011. He graduated from Harvard College in 1994 and, before entering politics, he was an attorney with the law firms of Greenebaum Doll & McDonald and Keating, Muething & Klekamp.

The luncheon will begin at noon at the Colonial Cottage Inn, 3140 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky. There will be limited seating by reservation only. To make a reservation, please contact Steve Gillespie at (859) 371-2900. The cost to cover the lunch is $12.00 per person.
