Boone County Animal Shelter hosts Pawapalooza; proceeds to benefit care and treatment of animals

The Boone County Animal Shelter is preparing to host the fifth annual Pawapalooza. This family-friendly day-long event includes a K9-5K, animal adoptions, concessions and vendors, costume contest, inflatables for the kids and more.

Pawapalooza (3)Pawapalooza will take place Saturday, September 24, 2016, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Boone County Fairgrounds, 5819 Idlewild Road, in Burlington.

The K9-5K will be held at England/Idlewild Park located at 5550 Idlewild Road in Burlington, at 9:30 a.m.

Participants can register for the race at Pawapalooza.org or register the day of the event. Your help is essential to making this event a great success.

Pawapalooza will raise funds for the shelter, which made the commitment to eliminate euthanasia of all treatable animals, meaning that resources of time and support, and especially finances, have become even further stretched than ever before.

Providing the care necessary to save the lives of homeless pets in Boone County is an expensive endeavor, but one that the organization is committed to, and one that we are reliant upon the community and local businesses to help support.

Funds raised from Pawapalooza will be earmarked for the medical care for sick, injured, abused and orphaned animals and to support the volunteer and foster care programs at BCAS. All proceeds go directly toward improving the lives of the animals.
