The new section of roadway will consist of two roundabouts and a new road connecting them. This project is the northern-most phase in a multi-phase plan to reroute the KY 9 corridor from Wilder all the way to the riverfront.

Third Street in Newport remains closed between York Street (US 27) and Columbia Street. York Street (US 27) will be closed between Third Street and Fourth Street beginning Monday, July 25, 2016.

Traffic wanting to travel US 27 south via York Street should follow the signed detour East on Third Street, then south onto Monmouth Street; traffic will then turn right onto Westbound Fourth Street and the detour will end at the intersection of Fourth Street and York Street.

Access to Riverboat Row and B.B. Riverboats via Columbia Street flood wall gate will remain open to traffic.
