“The World’s Largest Golf Outing is so much more than a fun day on the links with family and friends,” says David Peru, General Manager of Devou Park Golf Club.  “It’s about honoring our military and giving back to the brave men and women who’ve served and sacrificed to protect our freedom; we encourage everyone to sign up and help improve the lives of our veterans and their families.”

Part of the proceeds and all donations from players and non-players benefit Fisher House Foundation.

Devou Park skylineFisher House Foundation is known for its network of comfort homes where military and Veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.  These homes are located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide, and in Europe, close to the medical center or hospital it serves.

Teams are encouraged to raise additional funds and donations may be made at www.worldslargestgolfouting.com/donate.

A closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive contest will be conducted on various holes and local vendors have donated door prizes.  Following play, lunch will be available and additional prizes will be awarded.

All registered golfers are entered into a grand-prize drawing to win a trip for four to the Nike Campus in Beaverton, Oregon, for custom club fitting and other merchandise.

The highest national fundraising team will win a trip for four to Destination Kohler, host of the 2020 Ryder Cup, to play the Irish Course at Whistling Straits and either the River Course or Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run.  Additional prizes can be earned by teams with the highest contribution levels and best scores of the day at each course.
