Boone County gearing up for annual Farm Tour; group includes alpacas, wine and family farms


The Boone County Conservation District, Boone County Cooperative Extension Service, Kentucky Farm Bureau and the Boone County Fiscal Court are once again sponsoring the annual Rural Treasures- Boone County Farm Tour.

The tour will take place on June 25, 2016 from 10am-4pm, rain or shine.

This self-guided tour of some of the county’s finest working and historic farms will offer visitors a chance to learn more about agriculture in Boone County.

Agriculture is a vital part of Boone County and the tour offers a first-hand opportunity to learn about where food and fiber is produced while observing the workings on the farms and speaking with local farmers.

This year’s tour includes fourteen participating sites featuring a wide range of agriculture and agri-tourism, and the Farmer’s Market located in Burlington, KY, which serves as the Tour Headquarters.

Farms participating in this year’s tour include Eagle Bend Alpaca Farm in Burlington,McGlasson Farms in Hebron and Verona Vineyards in Verona.
