Highlighted by remarks from Governor Matt Bevin, Lt. “My goal is to not just meet the national averages for workplace injury and illnesses, but for Kentucky to become the safest place to do business in the country,” said Ramsey. “As this administration continues to strengthen our state’s workforce, I am leading our team at the Labor Cabinet to implement a strategic plan that will improve how our workforce stays safe through a renewed focus on consultation, partnerships and education.”

Secretary Ramsey also emphasized the importance of identifying and abating potential hazards before an injury or illness occurs.

“For this state to enter a new era of workplace safety, the Labor Cabinet will continue to lead by driving home this approach to each and every business in Kentucky. While safety in the workplace has come a long way in this state, I know that we can ultimately do better if we are willing to work together and tackle workplace injury and illnesses through a comprehensive approach.”
