Governor’s appointments to boards, commissions includes Rick Hulefeld as chair of early childhood


Governor Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed Benjamin Katz to the Kentucky Center for the Arts Corp. to serve for a term expiring April 29, 2019.

· Benjamin Katz, of Louisville, is chief technology officer at Gazelle Inc. The appointment replaces Alice S. Sparks, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following as members of the Mining Board to serve for terms expiring April 10, 2019:

· Timothy C. Miller, of Madisonville, is an international representative for the United Mine Workers of America. He represents labor.

· Kevin L. Vaughn, of Sturgis, represents management.

Gov. Beshear has appointed retired Col. Pamela D. Stevenson as a member of the Veterans’ Program Trust Fund Board of Directors to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2017.

· Retired Col. Pamela D. Stevenson, of Louisville, is an attorney. She represents the Governors Advisory Board for Veterans’ Affairs. She replaces Micki King, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following as members of the Native American Heritage Commission to serve for terms expiring Sept. 1, 2019:

· Helen L. Danser, of Tyner, represents the public at large and is designated as chair of the commission.

· John Patrick Bowes, of Lexington, represents institutions of higher learning.

· Anne L. Wood, of Lexington, represents the public at large.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed David R. Marchal as a member of the Kentucky Single Family Dwellings Advisory Committee, to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2018.

· David R. Marchal, of Louisville, represents Code Administrators of Kentucky.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following as members of the Consumers’ Advisory Council to serve for terms expiring Sept. 8, 2018:

· David R. Azbill, of London.

· Diane Wood, of Hopkinsville.

· John D. Tidwell, of Mayfield.

· Robert S. Jones, of Versailles.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following as members of the Kentucky Licensing Board for Specialists in Hearing Instruments to serve for terms expiring July 31, 2019:

· Tobie C. Brown, of Harrodsburg, is a mental health associate and youth advocate. Brown represents consumer members. The appointment replaces Geraldine Gordon-Brown, whose term has expired.

· Michael S, Hoagland, of Lexington, is an audioprosthologist for Audibel Hearing Centers. He represents specialists in hearing instruments. The appointment replaces Michael Kevin Stone, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Jeremy L. Whitman to the Kentucky Equine Health and Welfare Council to serve for a term expiring Aug. 19, 2019.

· Jeremy L. Whitman, of Georgetown, represents the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Shirley D. Trunnell as a member of the Kentucky Nature Preserves Commission to serve for a term expiring July 1, 2018.

· Shirley D. Trunnell, of Utica, represents the National Farmers Organization.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following as members of the Land Between the Lakes Advisory Board to serve for terms expiring Aug. 9, 2020:

· Virginia L. Grulke, of Lexington, is chair of Kentucky Back Country Horsemen. She replaces Michael D. Lyons, whose term has expired.

· Glenda “Kay” McCollum, of Kuttawa, is retired. She will serve as an alternate. She replaces Kevin L. Murphy, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Terry Glenn Mott as a member of the Land Between the Lakes Advisory Board.

· Terry Glenn Mott, of Grand Rivers, shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 9, 2020.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Charlie Alexander Collins II as a member of the Center for Renewable Energy Research and Environmental Stewardship Board to serve for a term expiring March 13, 2017.

· Charlie Alexander Collins II, of Frankfort, is an assistant professor at Kentucky State University. He represents postsecondary education interests. Collins replaces Brian Clardy, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following as members of the Center for Renewable Energy Research and Environmental Stewardship Board, to serve for terms expiring March 13, 2017.

· John M. Wright, of Owensboro, represents companies that are focused on renewable energy.

· Donald G. Colliver, of Nicholasville, represents postsecondary education interests.

· Kelley Kline, of Pewee Valley, represents companies that are focused on renewable energy.

· Kenneth L. Seibert, Prospect, represents energy conservation organizations.

· Cam Metcalf, of Louisville, represents environmental interests.
· Clifford H. Ashburner, of Louisville, represents companies that are focused on renewable energy.

· Arthur L. Williams, of Louisville, represents consumer advocates.

· Rhonda R. Trautman, of Glasgow, represents local government.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following as members of the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights to serve for terms expiring Sept. 12, 2018:

· Richard E. Brown, of Owensboro, represents the 2nd Supreme Court District.

· Charles D. Bonifer, of Greensburg, represents the 3rd Supreme Court District.

· Danny A. Everett, of Lexington, represents the state at large.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Carol Wilding Hebel as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Racing Health and Welfare Fund Inc.

· Carol Wilding Hebel, of Louisville, shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 8, 2016 or until her respective successor is selected and qualified.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following to serve as members of the Kentucky Early Childhood Advisory Council:

· Rita T. Williams, of Hodgenville is a small business owner and retired banker. She represents the private sector and the 2nd Congressional District. The appointment replaces Tracy P. Haddix, whose term has expired. Rita Williams shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019.

· Deborah B. Williams, of Louisville, is a banker with PNC bank. She represents citizens at large. The appointment replaces William G. Scott, whose term has expired.

· Tracy P. Haddix, of Cave City. She represents local Head Start. The appointment replaces Kevin Nix, who resigned. Haddix shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending June 30, 2017.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following to serve as members of the Kentucky Early Childhood Advisory Council, for terms expiring June 30, 2019:

· Rick Hulefeld, of Covington, representing the private sector and the 4th Congressional District. He is designated as chair of the council.

· Brigitte B. Ramsey, of Falmouth, representing citizens at large.

· Rachel Yarbrough, of Madisonville, representing a local educational agency.

· Dreama G. Gentry, of Paint Lick, representing citizens at large.
