Springfield native Breeding who has told many stories about famous, even infamous men, focused on the contributions of Kentucky women in his latest film in which he tells the stories of women from the Bluegrass State who have shaped history also have the potential to inspire future generations.

The Kentucky Commission on Women enlisted Breeding’s help to launch the Kentucky Women Remembered Film Project, to bring to light the untold and under-told stories of Kentucky women and their achievements. A preview of this film can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/120418113

Though Dreamers & Doers: VOICES of Kentucky Women is directed to the adult audience, Breeding is next producing a youth version geared specifically to girls and boys in the 7th and 8th grades. “This youth oriented film will feature boys and girls from across Kentucky as on-camera narrators,” says Michael Breeding.

Auditions for this second film are now underway with the first round of audition on June 13th.

“I am continually surprised by how children and youth can enliven a film project,” says Breeding. “They make it fun, real and memorable.”

This is not the first time Kentucky’s youth have been tapped to help tell great Kentucky stories. Boys and girls from across Kentucky helped Breeding tell the story of the Kentucky Governor’s Mansion to 4th graders.

“The youth version of Dreamers & Doers will follow this same format but we do need more 7th and 8th graders to audition,” he said.

Youth interested in participating should contact him at www.michaelbreedingmedia.com.

The broadcast version of Dreamers & Doers: VOICES of Kentucky Women will air on KET Monday, June 15 at 9/8 p.m. on KET and Tuesday, June 23 at 9/8 p.m. on KET2.

Dreamers & Doers: VOICES of Kentucky Women is a production of Michael Breeding MEDIA. Parts of the film were filmed on location at NKU’s Digitorium.
