Many of you will remember Ashley Lambert-Wise as the bare backed beauty whose photo went viral after she scrawled the words, “I will quiet your silent screams, help heal your shattered soul, until once again my love you are whole,” in black sharpie marker across her back. In the photo she is wearing only her husband’s service cap and holding his rifle over her head.
She was angry that the military wouldn’t recognize her husband’s service related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She didn’t feel like they were getting the help they needed as a family. The more she cried out for help, the more she felt like her family was punished for her demands.
When she snapped the shot in anger she never thought it would go viral, but her rage resonated with millions of military wives.
Soon Facebook was clogged with images of bare backed brides with pledges to support their husbands scrolled across their skin.

Now, Ashley is at it again launching an online magazine called, Teal Star, for people living with PTSD and their care givers. Started in October 2014 they have over 5,000 subscribers worldwide.
The mission of the magazine is to “help hurting people heal by providing stories of hope and effective resources and educational information on both traditional and non-traditional healing methods.”
They are hoping to be the “go to place” for all things related to healing and recovering from PTSD/Secondary PTSD while providing financial stability to individuals dealing with or caring for someone with PTSD through flexible and “portable” jobs.
Ashley is hoping to get Teal Star into the hands of as many people around the world as possible, so she is trying to raise $10,000 to launch a print version of the magazine.
The print magazine will have a paid subscription, but the digital magazine is FREE to subscribers.
